DDNC—17th Annual Public Policy Forum Meeting Sunday, March 11, 2007 & Monday, March 12, 2007
- CSA’s delegation includes 8 individuals joining other members of the DDNC.
- Diane Eve Paley, DDNC treasurer, presented a report on celiac disease from the patient’s perspective.
- The Public Policy Forum and Diane's presentation were to advise the attendees before visiting with their US Senators and Representatives Monday, March 12, 2007.

Awareness—CSA has provided the following services to promote visibility of celiac disease:

Education—CSA serves individuals with educational information through:

Government—CSA utilized the following opportunities to assist and educate government leaders:
- Testifying at the United States Food and Drug Administration hearing on Definition of Gluten-Free utilizing the CSA member survey results and analysis
- Membership input to FDA hearings on Approaches to Establish Thresholds for Major Food Allergens and for Gluten in Food
- Provided public testimony at both July and August FDA Hearings
- Web site links for CSA membership submissions to FDA
- Membership in Digestive Disease National Coalition and participation in its activities
- Revision of National Digestive Disease Information Clearinghouse brochure on celiac disease
Research—CSA supports:
- Existing university-based research programs to initiate new development in grains and food sciences
- Applied research relevant to living a full life with celiac disease
- Testing for presence of gluten in commercial products
